2 tbs packed brown sugar
2 tbs light rum
1 tbs butter
1/2 tsp ground ginger
2 medium firm-ripe bananas, sliced diagonally 1/3-inch thick

combine brown sugar, rum, butter, and ginger in a wide skillet. bring to a simmer over medium heat. stir in bananas. stir over medium heat until bananas are heated through and syrup is slightly thickened. serve warm with dark chocolate ice cream.
